Being outside in nature is truly one of the most restorative things anyone can do.”

Nicole Kilian, ND, LAc is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and Acupuncturist practicing in NW Portland. Dr. Kilian’s experience in both Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine allows her to draw upon conventional methods with more subtle energetic perspectives. Her prescribed treatments may include nutritional counseling, acupuncture, western and Chinese herbs, supplements, cupping, and counseling, as well as pharmaceutical medications when necessary. Dr. Kilian is also a strong proponent of Vitamin “N” as in Nature.

Dr. Kilian earned her degrees from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR, and her thesis work at NUNM focused on over-training syndrome in ultramarathon athletes. She has completed extensive clinical rotations in mental health, and as an acupuncture intern provided symptom relief to cancer and multiple sclerosis patients while they underwent infusions.

Dr. Kilian has a collaborative approach to treating her patients. In her own words, “Healthy has a lot of different definitions. My strength is in helping patient’s define their definition of healthy and then working towards achieving those goals. You will not find a better cheerleader! I am on your team.”

When not at the clinic, Dr. Kilian enjoys hiking, running, climbing and skiing in the beautiful outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. “My first introduction to naturopathic medicine happened when I was struggling to train for my first marathon. I had experienced fatigue since a bout with mono as a teenager and was not keeping up with the training. I was determined to run this race so I went to see a naturopath. I was amazed at how impactful simple dietary changes were for my energy. The treatment helped me finish that first marathon and it sparked an interest that led me to where I am today.” Her current adventure is being “Mom” to five-month-old Matilda, and taking tap dance for the first time.
